Geothermal heat pumps for Yakima Valley homes
Heat and cool the house from the temperature of the ground. We assess the property, design the loop and service the system for the long haul.
Chapter 01
What the ground does for the house
A few feet below the surface the ground holds a steady temperature. A geothermal heat pump circulates a treated antifreeze liquid through a closed underground loop. In cold weather the earth warms that liquid and a heat exchanger hands the heat to the heat pump. In summer the process reverses, and the system removes heat and humidity from the air in your house and moves it into the ground.
It is one of the greenest systems you can put in a home, and it heats and cools with a single unit. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, a geothermal system can save up to 70 percent on heating costs and up to 50 percent on cooling costs per year. It can operate efficiently for up to 25 years, and the buried piping can last over 50.

Loop design, excavation and the air side
Putting in a loop means digging, so we assess your property first. A smaller lot may need a deeper vertical loop, while a large property lets the piping spread out horizontally at a shallower depth. We also take measurements inside, so the heat pump circulates air where you need it.
That inside half is the ductwork, and it matters as much as the loop. All Seasons designs from room-by-room load calculations in Carrier, Wrightsoft and Loop CAD software and builds its ductwork in-house to SMACNA standards. Chapter 03
Service for equipment that is mostly underground
Geothermal systems break down much less often than standard equipment, but it does happen, and we will fix one even if we did not install it. If the underground piping develops a leak, our technicians circulate earth-safe dye through the loop. The dye rises to the surface at the leak, so we dig only that spot instead of the whole yard.
Because so much of the system is out of sight, maintenance checkups matter. Our visit covers the electrical connections, internal components and refrigerant levels, the heat exchanger and blower, and the air filter, and we can inspect the ducts too. Maintenance Plans add discounts on labor, parts and repairs and a reminder when a checkup is due. Emergency repair is available 24-7.
